The World Sees the Surface—Christ Sees the Heart
“Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7b
Looking beyond the Easter season, the joy of the resurrection still calls to us—not only to celebrate, but to turn again to God, who is making all things new.
And yet, we live in a world fixated on outward appearances and divided by pride, suspicion, and worldly distinctions.
But the Word of God cuts deeper.
Christ sees the heart—and what He sees reveals our deep need for repentance and His saving mercy.
If we are honest, we must confess that we have judged others by outward appearances, harbored pride, and followed our own ways rather than the way of our Lord.
Yet the risen Christ meets us not with condemnation, but with mercy. He calls us to repent—to turn from sin—and to trust in Him who died and rose again for us.
Jesus’ resurrection gives not only eternal hope, but a new life to be lived now: a life shaped by reconciliation, not retribution; by peace toward others, not pride in self; by forgiveness given and grace received.
The joy of the Easter resurrection does not end with a season or a date—it fills the whole life of the believer. For in Christ, new life is given and hearts are made new.
As the Lord promises:
“I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.” — Ezekiel 36:26
Believe His promise: your sins are forgiven. Your heart is made new.
And then go in peace—sharing this good news with those God places in your path.
